30 Cats in 30 Days March 2015
Hello cat and art lovers!
Please join me again this year in my commitment to a MONTH of DAILY PAINTINGS!
I am seeking submissions of PHOTOS of GREAT-LOOKING CATS! Or goofy looking cats, or even down right ugly cats, really....
You have two ways of participating~
1- You can simply send me a photo of your incredible cat and I will look through all submissions and select a number of them to paint (8x8 panels only, available for sale or auction on my blog)
OR
2- You can send me a photo of your cat and commission me to paint it! With this option you choose the day of the month and the size of your painting and send me a photo! Your size options are 8x8 ($160), 10x10 ($250) or 12x12 ($350)~
For this project, I will be donating a percentage of all commissions to a cat/pet rescue group and am looking for a good one- let me know if you have any ideas!
MORE INFO~
Once you have found a photo of your pet that you like, you send it to me ([email protected]) (or snail-mail it to Kat Corrigan 3841 26th Ave S, Mpls, 55406) with your choice of size and your preferred date in the month of March! I will send you an Art Agreement and you will send me a partial or full payment to hold your place for the month.
At the end of February I will post a list of all the cats and their dates to be painted on my blog (katcorrigan.blogspot.com) and you will follow along!
Every day of March I will paint a cat and post the image on my blog, along with any information you’d like me to include about your pet (I LOVE hearing all the different cat tails!). At the end of the month, all paintings will be hung at Diamond’s Gallery in the Northeast Mpls Arts District from April 1st through May2, 2015! After that time we will arrange for the pick-up or mailing of your original art to your home.

30 Cats in 30 Days! the finished 2012 paintings~
These are the cats, painted during March of 2012. They were chosen from photos submitted by friends and strangers, and included cats both with us and departed. My family went to Key Largo during part of the month of March so a number of these were painted in Florida! I have to admit I have loved these projects, as I am someone who really needs deadlines and external pressures, and having the chance to paint one painting a day, kinda as a homework assignment, makes me crack down and get working. I know, it's a bit nuts. But, creativity comes when called if you keep it going. It's like running- or doing yoga, or talking with big words- the more you do it, the better you get at it.
